A reflectioN
from one of my clients who worked through The Path to Purpose Bootcamp with The Cabinet.
I think the most exceptional thing about working with Emily is that she has the rare combination of being intuitive, nurturing and fluid in her process while also being very organized and action-oriented. On multiple occasions, she made a shift mid-session if she did not feel something was effective in that moment. Her program is well-conceived, thoughtful, and workable. If you do the work, you are certain to get immeasurable results and clarity, while having the opportunity to work with an intelligent, devoted, thoroughly delightful human. Well worth the investment.
Describe the transformation you feel that you’ve had from the beginning of our work together until now.
The three things that come to mind are awareness, clarity, and organization. Before bootcamp, my thoughts and plans felt chaotic and scattered. I had not clearly defined what truly mattered and felt genuine in my pursuits. There was a lot of noise around my planning, and now I feel much more calm and resolute, not only in the “big” project I discovered in this process, but in the rest of my life, relationships, and health. Everything makes more sense to me now.
What big changes have you made since we started working together?
The changes have been both the practical and the thought-based. I have become a much better scheduler. Prioritizing my time in line with what I really want to achieve/maintain has been very positive. (Thanks, cheesy rocks video!) Thought-wise, one of the biggest changes is the acceptance and even embrace of my true longing in terms of projects, relationships, and how I desire to live.
What thought patterns have you shifted?
I’m a work in progress, but I have truly made strides in putting my goals, plans and ethos first. This is a constant challenge, but I am very aware of it, and I am moving toward really understanding the importance of meeting my own needs before those of others. The thought process that has really changed is understanding the connection between taking action steps on my projects, and the confidence in their worth that follows. I also now fully embrace that I am not meant to do this alone. I need the same support that I have always been willing to give, and I am stronger when I accept it.
What surprised you about the process?
It surprised me that I was such a basket case at times. Talking (and working and coloring) through some of those long-held shitty beliefs and bad habits was sometimes pretty painful for me. However, I am fairly certain that those hardest sessions were the ones I needed the most, and proved to be really powerful.
What did you love?
I loved having moments of crystalline truth, even when it felt like a gut punch. (A punch delivered by my own fear, not Emily!) I loved when we made connections that made everything seem right. I loved discovering, but also bringing shape to what I already knew.
What would you change?
There’s nothing that stands out to me as needing to change. For me, it was helpful throughout the process to go back and read my earlier notes, to continually reinforce and connect all of the sessions. I think the energy healing session would have been really helpful at the beginning of our work. Maybe even one at the beginning and one at the end!
